Why Bima Adam Loves Atmospheric Phonk & Nightdrive Music

Before IgnitronDev, before the EMR and the Kubernetes clusters, I made music. From 2017 to 2021 I produced atmospheric phonk and instrumental music under the name Beatz Bimz. People often ask why — and the answer is that music taught me how to build.

The Beatz Bimz years

Producing music is an exercise in discipline. You sit with the same loop for hours, tweaking a hi-hat or a bass line until it feels right. You learn that atmosphere is built from small layers, and that restraint is a skill. Those years shaped how I approach software: the same patience, the same attention to detail, the same obsession with how things feel to use.

What atmospheric phonk is

Atmospheric phonk is a mood as much as a genre — dark, spacious, cinematic. Heavy 808s, dusty drums, and textures that feel like driving through a city at night. It is music that does not demand attention so much as it creates a world around you.

That is also why nightdrive music resonates. There is something honest about music made to be played while moving: the road, the lights, the silence between tracks.

Music and software

The connection is closer than it seems:

• Atmosphere is UX. A track’s mood is the product of a hundred subtle choices — exactly like an interface.
• Iteration is everything. You do not write a good song in one pass. You write, listen, cut, repeat. Same for software.
• Less is more. The best producers remove more than they add. The best products do too.

Music is not just entertainment. It is identity, memory, and a way home.

These days the studio is quieter, but the habit stayed. When I design a clinical interface or a radar screen, I am still listening for the right atmosphere — just with different instruments.
