The IgnitronDev Story
Every product starts with a realization. For IgnitronDev, it was that software works best when it is built for a specific job, by people who understand the workflow it serves.
The Early Days
I started IgnitronDev with a background in music production, producing atmospheric phonk and instrumental music under the name Beatz Bimz from 2017 to 2021. The discipline, creativity, and technical meticulousness required in music production translated directly into software engineering.
We began by taking on custom web development projects, but the real turning point came when we were tasked with building an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for RSIA Gladiool.
The RSIA Gladiool Project
Building an EMR demands absolute data security, high availability, and an interface that healthcare professionals can use under real pressure.
I led the infrastructure setup from scratch, on a modern, highly scalable stack:
- Backend: Java Spring Boot
- Frontend: React / Next.js
- Database: PostgreSQL
- Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, and ArgoCD on Debian servers
The project proved we could build enterprise-grade software. It also taught us something important: different users need different tools, and no single platform can serve all of them well.
The Pivot to Independent Products
Instead of one platform trying to do everything, we chose the opposite direction: build focused products, each with its own users, roadmap, and measure of success.
Today, IgnitronDev operates three independent products:
- IgnitronDev Router — a unified AI gateway that routes requests to leading models through one API key, with usage metering, billing, and spend controls.
- ShipRadar — a maritime vessel-tracking platform for monitoring ships, routes, and fleet activity.
- Ignitron Clinical UI — an open-source library of React components for difficult clinical workflows, born directly from what we learned building the RSIA Gladiool EMR.
Each product serves its own users, solves a specific problem, and follows its own roadmap. It’s been an incredible journey — and we’re just getting started.
